Themed Reading Challenge - 2009 (Completed)
For this challenge, I went with the third option which was to "read at least 6 books that share MORE than two themes."
The three themes I chose were books of historical fiction, that were all written by female authors, and who were new to me.
Here are the 6 books that I read:
1.The Kingmaking by Helen Hollick
2.Galway Bay by Mary Pat Kelly
3.King's Fool: A Notorious King, His Six Wives, and the One Man Who Knew Their Secrets by Margaret Campbell Barnes
4.Signora da Vinci by Robin Maxwell
5.The Help By Kathryn Stockett
6.The Last Prince of the Mexican Empire by C.M. Mayo

Congratulations on finishing this one!

Hi Teddy:
I was thrilled to discover your site today! I love the book reviews and congratulations on finishing the challenge. Although it's officially over, I have a new title that fits in with your reading that I believe you will enjoy.
I work in the marketing department of Putnam and Riverhead and we’re excited to announce the first title by debut novelist Erica Eisdorfer, THE WET NURSE’S TALE and extend an advanced readers copy to you.
Featuring a bright and clever, sharp-tongued heroine in the business of nursing babies in Victorian England, this tale is endearing and gripping. Susan Rose is an atypical protagonist with a lovable personality that shines despite her low-class status. Try to imagine how Susan’s life goes astray when her child is sold to a London woman! While on a quest to find her son, Susan is thrown into a world of secrets and deception that will keep you turning the pages.
Loved by author Elizabeth Gilbert of Eat, Pray, Love fame, I’m confident you’ll enjoy Eisdorfer’s story and voice. If you’re interested in receiving an advanced readers edition please send me an email at Lydia.hirt@us.penguingroup.com with your mailing address.
Thanks and best of luck with your blog and family!
-Lydia

I've heard so much about The Help. I like your review. I have seen it around a lot, but haven't picked it up quite yet.
