Congratulations! Water for Elephants is on my list for this year, and based on your review I think I should move it up! I'm also glad to see that you liked Anne of Green Gables. I remember flying through all 8 (?) of them, and loving the stories, but I haven't revisited any of the series since I was 9. I'm glad to see it holds up; I've been a little afraid to glance at them again for fear I might tarnish a childhood favorite!
